We have had a super busy few weeks here at My Vintage HQ, getting the shop deep cleaned and all fresh and ready for our first day re-opening today! It was so lovely to see people back in the shop and we have already had a great response to our new stock. New arrivals this week have been in the retro department from retro dresses, retro shoes, retro bags, retro skirts and retro tops! We have also had a drop of cool and quirky retro jewellery - lots of fantastic colours and styles for the spring and summer months ahead.
There are so many pieces that work amazingly together so I wanted to show you a few of my favourite combinations in this week's blog post! Hopefully this will give you a little outfit inspiration for getting out and about as we continue to gradually lift lockdown measures. I hope you are already enjoying a little more freedom and socialising and that we can all safely continue through this journey. So let's have a look at some super cute combos!
First up, I have put this gorgeous Sisterhood Striped Tee in Red (£16) with the fabulous fifties inspired Red Cherry Print Swing Skirt (£22) - I think clashing patterns can work really well when done right and this combination of stripes and cherries is so cute! This tee would also look great with jeans or a plain red or black skirt and the cherry skirt goes with so many different tops! A cute and comfy outfit for the daytime or the evening.
Next up, I have chosen this gorgeous Retro Las Vegas Print Mini Dress (£30) which has an awesome print of playing cards, lucky horse-shoes, hearts, diamonds, flaming aces and cherries. Picking out the cherries, I have teamed it with the Retro Cherry Straw Bag (£39) which is not only a great handbag but it's large volume is also great for using as a picnic basket if you fancy meeting up with friends for a socially distanced feast in the park!
Speaking of delicious summer treats, this delightful duo really do look good enough to eat! We have the beautiful Retro Strawberry Sundae Mini Dress (£30) along with these glorious Retro Red Strawberry Sandals (£35) for simply the cutest summer outfit that's also very cool and comfortable to wear whether you are holidaying at home or abroad.
There aren't many brighter and happier prints than rainbow prints! Rainbows have been a striking and significant symbol throughout the pandemic and of course also represent the Pride flag. Whatever rainbows mean to you, they certain offer a feeling of hope and positivity which I simply love. Our Over The Rainbow Swing Dress (£52) can make any day feel brighter and happier, and is bound to attract many compliments to boot! We also have this fantastic Pastel Rainbow Wicker Bag (£39) so I just couldn't resist pairing the two!
Shoes glorious shoes! How amazing are these Polka Dots and Lemons Platform Wedges (£59)?? And what is even better - a matching bag! I just love how this Polka Dots and Lemons Bag (£39) has actual kitsch plastic lemons and leaves flowing off the top of it! This is such an amazing way to transform jeans and a simple top into the CUTEST summer outfit! Also fab with an LBD or a cute yellow summer frock - so many possibilities! And you get height plus comfort with a platform wedge - too good and totally yummy!
This skirt and heels combo is giving me all of the Senorita vibes! The Mexican Rose Circle Skirt (£22) is such a bargain and can be worn alone or with one of our full volume netted petticoats for even more impact. I have teamed them with our gorgeous new Red Retro Strappy Heels (£49) which have a real 30s/40s flavour and the chunky block heel is super comfy and easy to walk in. Just a stunning set and also ideal for mixing and matching with different outfits.
We also have the Sisterhood Striped Tee in Green (£16) which looks absolutely adorable with these gorgeous Palm Leaf Statement Earrings (£14) - just add jeans or shorts and some cute trainers or sandals and you are good to go. Minimal effort and maximum impact!
And finally, I am so completely head over heels in love with this brand new Binky Bunny Swing Dress (£25) it's such a fantastic price and just the cutest print of pastel bunnies and flowers. Bring out the baby pink with our Hell Yeah Heart Bag (£29) which can be worn with the shoulder strap or carried as a clutch.
