Father's Day was first celebrated in Washington in 1910. It was created by Sonora Smart Dodd to honour her father William Jackson Smart - a Civil War veteran and single parent of six children. It has since been an annual celebration of fathers and father figures and what they contribute to the lives of their children. It is celebrated on a variety of dates across the word, but in many countries including the UK it is observed on the third Sunday in June.
With 2 weeks until the big day, there is still time to choose something special and unique for the father figure in your life. If you are sick of the normal offering of mugs, bottles of beer and slippers then maybe it's time to switch to vintage gifting! This is a great little compact grooming kit in a black faux leather case. Opens up with small hinge to reveal mirror, cologne bottle, clothes/hair brush, plastic comb, soap dish and toothbrush case. Cologne bottle has attractive ribbed glass and the soap dish and toothbrush holder have plastic bottoms and stainless steel lids. This kit is in excellent condition and has only been used lightly, if at all. Outer measurements approx 7.5" x 5" x 2.5".
This classic doctors style bag is in a rich and warm chestnut brown leather. Three large internal compartments and a push-lock closure. The original key is not attached but the case is unlocked. Well used but still in very good vintage condition. Measures approx 17" x 12" x 7". Great for paperwork, working from home or as a retro display item.
Smart bow tie in black fabric. Simple metal hook fastener with small elastic piece. Measures approx 19" collar. In very good vintage condition. This is a great gift for any dapper gent or lover of vintage fashion.
This is a very unusual and stylish set of cuff links and matching tie clip that would make a wonderful gift for a well dressed gent! In a gold-tone metal, the shapes are very simple and each of the three pieces has a glass stone set into it. The stones are a deep amethyst colour. A fantastic gentleman’s accessory. Unboxed. The tie clip measures approx 1.5ins long and the cuff links are approx 0.5ins square and are in very good vintage condition.
Quirky 3oz hip flask made from stainless steel. One side engraved with the large Jack Daniels logo. Screw top. Approx 3” x 3” and in very good vintage condition. A great little gift with a lot of character!
Striking vintage watch from the infamous Accurist - markings are 353000 CAL6M12 SR621SW. Stainless steel back with gold toned stainless steel mesh bracelet. Square face in gold with date line. Adjustable fastener, will fit up to an 8" wrist. New battery required. In very good vintage condition.
Very cool retro design cologne bottle - Kolnisch Wasser 4711. This is the very large 300ml size and is empty. This would make such a great retro decorative item for a bedroom, bathroom or barbers shop. Measures approx 6.5” high x 3” wide. In very good vintage condition.
