Another month has flown by and we are knee-deep in August already! We have been hard at work as always here at My Vintage HQ, buying, prepping, photographing and listing new items on our virtual rails, over many different categories. From vintage for men to vintage for the home and plenty more inbetween - this week I bring you some fantastic new arrivals for August 2022.
So grab your drink of choice (it's an iced latte for me!) and let's dive straight in...
VINTAGE DRESSES
Rock the uber glam 70s look with this stunning vintage maxi dress. Bold geometric print fabric in burgundy, red, grey and white with pretty rouched bust and halterneck ties. Light non stretch fabric which is slightly see-through in the light. Fastens with a back zip. Add wedge or platform sandals, oversize shades and a floppy hat for the most stunning retro summer look. In very good vintage condition.
Wow! This is a stunning vintage dress from the very collectable Jean Allen. Beautiful and whimsical floaty strapless prom dress with boned rouched bodice and sweetheart neckline. The cinched waist leads to a full midi skirt and you can also add a petticoat and slim belt for more volume to give this a more 1950s look. Chiffon style fabric with full lining. Fastens with a back zip. Non stretch and very fitted. In very good vintage condition. l
style made from a thick textured crimplene fabric in a pretty aqua/turquoise blue colour. Small collar and button front with two faux pocket flaps and darted bust. Short sleeves. Slight stretch. In very good vintage condition.
VINTAGE JEWELLERY
Elegant vintage necklace from the 1950s in silver metal with clear diamantes. Various shapes and sizes of stones with a feature teardrop shaped 'back tail' piece. This is such a super sparkly ornate necklace and would be perfect for bridal wear or a very special occasion. Total length is approx 15". In very good vintage condition.
Stunning vintage expansion bracelet from the 1950s/1960s. Substantial medium weight piece comprising pointed oval mother of pearl tiles on a stretch band. Approx 0.5" deep and stretches from 7"-9". In very good vintage condition.
Wow, this is a seriously beautiful pair of antique earrings. Ornate and elaborate filigree teardrops with large iridescent stones that catch the light in a rainbow of hues. Screw closure. Measures approx 1.5" long. In very good vintage condition with no missing stones.
VINTAGE MENSWEAR
We absolutely love this unusual funky golfing top from 1980s Alan Stuart - made in the USA. Dropped shoulder polo style in a non stretch slubbed fabric that feels like a soft linen. Neutral coffee and cream hues with large golfer applique detail under the chest pocket, in shades of brown. Three button placket, ribbed hem and short sleeves. Small mark to the front but otherwise in very good vintage condition.
Genuine vintage G.u.F. military issue cap with the small bullseye badge of the West German Bundeswehr. This hat is from the West German Airforce uniform and were worn as part of the battle dress. The inner label states G.u.F Brand Q/B52F/50095/50550 Gr.57 8405-12-137-6565 31.7.76. This olive green hat is made from a durable polyester and cotton blend thick fabric. When laid flat this measures approx 11” x 4”. In very good vintage condition.
Luxe label Yves Saint Laurent brings us this stylish and striking vintage designer shirt. Vivid deep purple vertical stripes and full button front. Long sleeves with double button cuffs. 100% cotton with no stretch. The size label is M but this measures as a Large at 44" chest. In very good vintage condition.
VINTAGE HOMEWARE
We love these super cool drinks glasses/tumblers from everyone's favourite childhooD comic - The Beano! Three tumblers, one Dennis the Menace, one Desperate Dan and one Minnie the Minx. Each glass is printed with bold imagery of each of the three much loved characters and each glass is also marked D.C. Thomson & Co Ltd 1989. Each glass stand approx 5.5" tall and approx 2" wide. These are in very good vintage condition without any cracks or chips.
A cute and stylish addition to any kitchen or kitsch retro space - we love this ceramic storage/cookie jar. Vivid red with abstract strawberry graphics. Curved top with curved lid (not airtight). No makers markings. Measures approx 6" x 5.5" x 4" not including lid. In very good vintage condition. One small chip that has been painted over.
This is a beautiful and fully complete vintage set comprising 6 hand-painted glass bowls and 6 spoons. Made in Italy - brand is Decor Line by Giorgi. All housed in the original box. Each of the bowls in shaped like an apple with hand painted flowers in yellow and orange with gold gilding detail. The spoons are metal and plastic with a faux bamboo look to the handles. Bowls measure approx 5" x 5" and spoons are approx 6" long. Outer box measures approx 22" x 11" x 2". There is some fading to the gilding but generally in very good vintage condition.
VINTAGE ACCESSORIES
Luxurious vintage ladies driving gloves in sumptuous red leather with bound keyhole uppers. Very detailed stitching and texture including punched holes to back and front. Each finger has inserts and top stitching. Measurements when laid flat are approximately 3.5" wide and 8.5" at longest point. Approx size medium. In very good vintage condition.
Beautiful and elegant mid century vintage hat form the late 1950s/early 1960s. Made from a slubbed cream/ivory nylon fabric with a silky feel; this hat is pleated with a large feature bow. Inner labels states Made in England and 100% nylon. The hat isn't structured so doesn't hold it's shape when unworn but looks great once on the head. Inner circumference is approx 23" so a good size to also fit over a beehive or full volume hairstyle! Non stretch and fully lined. There is a tear on one of the pleats on the fold so this is not very noticeable and can of course be repaired if desired. Otherwise in very good vintage condition.
Compact and practical purse in classic black genuine leather. One side has a popper fastening that opens out to note pockets (this purse precedes credit card slots) and the other is a twist clasp with two more compartments for coins etc. This would still hold cards in various pockets/slots. The purse measures approx 6" x 3.5". Stamped inside with 'Real Leather - Made in England'. In very good vintage condition.
