From teeny tiny tennis mini skirts to long flowing silks; there were plenty of pleated skirts on the fashion week runways for 2022. We saw some beautiful pleated skirts from the likes of Erdem, COS, Rejina Pyo and Sandy Liang and I'd say it was one the the most wearable trends to emerge from these high fashion catwalks.
Back in 2010, we were rocking pleated skirts in a range of different fabrics and colours but it seemed they fell off the fashion radar for a while. But just like all trends, they are back again with a bang! As I have said many times before, I don't believe that you should only shop or dress based on trends, nor do I believe that all trends are wearable and suitable to all of us. I also want to slow down the destructive world of fast fashion by encouraging people to look outside of those throwaway brands in favour of more second hand and vintage pieces. Keeping an eye on trends and taking inspiration from them is the perfect balance; especially when you can tap into the latest looks whilst still buying responsibly with original vintage clothing.

We are in LOVE with this vintage midi skirt from designer label Jaeger. This mid-blue shade is stunning, with a vertical white pinstripe and full pleats from just below the hips. 2 - Vintage 1980s Coral Pleated Midi Skirt UK Size 18 (£22)
We love vintage pleated skirt in the all important midi length. Bright and breezy, this pretty coral skirt will look fantastic with a cute slogan t-shirt and trainers. 3 - 1990s Vintage BurgundynFloral Pleated Skirt Size 14/16 (£20)
Gorgeous and easy to wear vintage midi skirt that would look great with DMs and a band tee or with a pretty lace top, belt and heels. Burgundy/wine with ditsy white floral print. Full elasticated waist and soft pleats. Stretch waist so will fit a range of sizes. In excellent condition and great all year round. 4 - 1970s Vintage Blue Checked Midi Skirt Size 10 (£24)
This pretty vintage skirt is perfect for the spring and summer. Stylish midi length with box pleats, slight flare and thick fixed waist band. Finished with a self fabric belt that ties at one side. 5 - 1990s Vintage Black Pleated Midi Skirt UK Size 20/22 (£18)
This classic floaty and light pleated midi skirt can be styled in so many different ways and with many different colours. Versatile black looks great with neutral or bright colours.
