There isn't much I don't LOVE about the 1960s and if I could have been a teenager in any other decade than the 90s, it would have had to be then. The huge cultural reset, the music, the youth revolution and of course the fashion. From the slick futuristic looks Courrèges style, to the boho flower power, the psychedelic Strawberry Fields and so much more. The beehives and dark dolly eye makeup looks, the colour palettes from pretty pastels to deep vivid jewel brights. There are so many 60s looks that still look amazingly stylish to this day. Combine a 60s vintage mini skirt with opaque tights and a roll neck jumper for a sleek office look or go full daisy print for that quintessential 60s hippy vibe. With that in mind, I have pulled together my top ten vintage picks from the 1960s from the vast collection at My Vintage. 1 - 1960s Vintage Purple Boucle Knit Dress Jacket Size 12 (£40)
This is such an amazing jacket and a rare find. Original 60s piece in two gorgeous shades of purple with a boucle fluffy knit and satin collar, cuffs and front buttons/centre trim. Fully lined and non-stretch with full button front. Could be worn as a dress jacket with trousers or even as a mini dress or casual open jacket. Stunning and versatile. 2 - 1960s Vintage Turquoise Chiffon Dress Size 10/12 (£48)
Stunning sixties vintage dress in vivid turquoise blue. Fit and flare shape with sheer sleeves and sheer top panel with pretty embroidered trim. Darted bust, seamed waist and paneled a-line skirt. Fully lined and quite weighty- this is made to a very high standard. Non stretch with back zip fastening. Some slight pulls to the sheer sleeves but overall in very good vintage condition. 3 - 1960s Vintage Cream Boucle Shift Dress & Jacket Size 12 (£65)
Gorgeous vintage mod dress and jacket set from the 1960s. Cute short shift dress in a classic simple shape with matching cropped zip-front jacket. Made from a looped boucle fabric in cream with a slight pinky undertone. Thick non stretch fabric. Dress fastens with a back zip. The nature of the fabric means it appears a little ‘bobbly’ but the overall look is great and it is in very good vintage condition. Tap or click the image more more details.
4 - 1960s Vintage Silver Strappy Dancing Sandals UK 4/EU 37 (£26)
Dance the night away in these beautiful vintage pretty shoes in metallic silver. Dainty 3" heel with strappy side buckle. You could team these with all manner of different outfits from dresses and skirts to slim or wide leg trousers. The possibilities are endless! 5 - 1960s Vintage Mid Century Plastic Box Shoulder Bag - Yellow (£28)
Funky and very unusual mid century shoulder bag made in a box style from corrugated plastic. Yellow plastic carry handle on the top and front yellow plastic slide buckle. Finished with a yellow plastic ribboned shoulder strap. This unique bag is still fully usable, of course showing wear in keeping with age and the industrial style look. 6 - Vintage 1960s Bright Red Double Breasted Coat Size 12/14 (£60)
You may have seen this absolute beauty in our shop window this week. You certainly won't be missed in this awesome original 1960s vintage coat! Cool mod style in vivid bright red with large double collar and double breasted front with chunky gold buttons. Two faux front pockets and full lining. Light ribbed textured fabric with some stretch. 7 - 1960s Vintage Bright Pink Mod Dress Size 10 (£44)
Immaculate vibes from this awesome sixties mini mod dress. Bright almost neon pink with white spotty print. Long sleeves with button cuffs and 3/4 button down front and collar. Made from a light semi-sheer nylon with slight stretch. In very good vintage condition. Just tap the image to see more.
8 - Vintage Dress | 1960s Vintage Purple Swirl Mini Dress Size 10/12 (£45)
Super groovy 60s mini that's perfect for the autumn/winter. Deep aubergine purple with a creamy grey, in a swirled pattern for that psychedelic feel we love! Long sleeved and high necked. 9 - Vintage 1960s Polka Dot Toweling Top UK Size 10 (£22)
This cute and unusual 1960s top is made from a thick textured toweling material. White with adorable polka dots in yellow, green, orange blue and grey/brown. 10 - 1960s Vintage Monochrome Mini Smock Dress Size 10/12 (£45)
Cute little boho 60s dress in classic monochrome palette. Mini length smock dress with large feature collar and full button front. Long sleeves with elasticated cuffs. Additional self-fabric belt that can be tied to cinch in the waist or even be worn as a cute head scarf/hair accessory. Made from a light airy non stretch cotton fabric.
