A truly charming and beautifully preserved vintage ladies grooming set, dating from the late 1950s to early 1960s, presented in its original packaging and in unused condition — a rare and delightful find.

The outer box features a soft pale pink base with delicate polka dots, setting the tone for what feels like a perfectly giftable mid-century treasure. Inside sits the main zipped vanity case, finished in a pearlised textured material with a decorative floral flourish to the front in pink and green, accented with gold detailing and tiny diamanté embellishments — wonderfully feminine and very much of its era.

Unzipping the case reveals a fully fitted interior, complete with its original contents, all neatly arranged and unused. The set includes a selection of manicure tools with striking pink marbled handles — including cuticle tools, tweezers, nail scissors and a metal nail file — alongside a clear-handled hairbrush and matching comb. To the side are three original plastic containers (two pots and one bottle), clean and scent-free, ready to be filled with lotions, powders or perfumes if desired. The interior lining has a soft blush tone which complements the overall palette beautifully, giving it that unmistakable vintage dressing table aesthetic.

Whether used as intended or kept as a decorative piece, it captures the glamour and ritual of mid-century beauty routines perfectly.

The outer case measures approximately 7" x 4" x 2", making it a lovely compact size for display or practical use.

In excellent vintage condition overall, especially considering its age and unused status. There are some light, age-related marks to the outer box and case as to be expected, but nothing that detracts from its overall presentation or charm.

At My Vintage, we take time to carefully measure each item of vintage clothing so that you have the best chance of ensuring a good fit whenever you buy from us. We measure the clothing laid flat as the diagrams show below and for bust, chest, waist and hips we double the measurement. For example, if the waist measures 17" across when laid flat then this would equate to a 34" waist (17 x 2 = 34)

We use the measurements we collate to assign each item of vintage clothing with an approximate modern-day size. For example, a dress with a 34" bust, 28" waist and 34" hips would normally equate to a current UK size 10. The labels on vintage clothing can vary massively depending on country of origin and date of manufacture.  Clothing sizes have changed over the years and from decade to decade we see alternative types of sizing as well as variations on the way measurements equate to dress sizes.

We always recommend that you double-check the measurements of the vintage clothing item you are interested in, ideally by measuring an item of clothing you already own and that fits well, and comparing these measurements. There can be variations due to the desired fit, shape and fabric of an item but our size guidelines are normally very accurate and take the stress out of buying vintage online.
