1960s/70s Vintage Karolina Porcelain Plaid Coffee Set

This beautiful mid-century coffee set was crafted in Poland by the renowned Karolina Porcelain Factory, celebrated for its fine white porcelain and elegant modernist silhouettes. Dating from the late 1960s to early 1970s, each piece features the factory’s signature crisp white glaze paired with a bold plaid check design in warm brown and soft pink colourways — a striking and very distinctive pattern typical of Eastern European modernist ceramics of the era. The set includes a tall 9" coffee pot with its original lid, a lidded sugar pot standing 5", a 4.5" milk/cream jug, plus four matching 3" tall cups (two in brown check and two in pink check) with four coordinating saucers. Each piece carries the original Karolina crown backstamp, confirming its mid-century authenticity. The slim, architectural shape of the pot and jug, combined with the playful geometric pattern, make this a standout display piece as well as a functional coffee service. A wonderful addition to any retro kitchen, mid-century dining room or ceramics collection, this set also mixes beautifully with plain white porcelain or other patterned 60s/70s tableware for a curated, eclectic look. Style it on open shelving for a warm, nostalgic pop of colour, or use it to elevate a cosy weekend coffee moment. Condition is excellent throughout with no chips or cracks, only the lightest signs of age as expected.

At My Vintage, we take time to carefully measure each item of vintage clothing so that you have the best chance of ensuring a good fit whenever you buy from us. We measure the clothing laid flat as the diagrams show below and for bust, chest, waist and hips we double the measurement. For example, if the waist measures 17" across when laid flat then this would equate to a 34" waist (17 x 2 = 34)

We use the measurements we collate to assign each item of vintage clothing with an approximate modern-day size. For example, a dress with a 34" bust, 28" waist and 34" hips would normally equate to a current UK size 10. The labels on vintage clothing can vary massively depending on country of origin and date of manufacture.  Clothing sizes have changed over the years and from decade to decade we see alternative types of sizing as well as variations on the way measurements equate to dress sizes.

We always recommend that you double-check the measurements of the vintage clothing item you are interested in, ideally by measuring an item of clothing you already own and that fits well, and comparing these measurements. There can be variations due to the desired fit, shape and fabric of an item but our size guidelines are normally very accurate and take the stress out of buying vintage online.
