Original 1960s Vintage Wool Mod Shift Top & Mini Skirt Co-Ord Size 8
A beautifully refined 1960s two-piece set, crafted in a soft pure wool with a subtle light grey and cream geometric square pattern that gives it a quiet, textured elegance. This is classic mod tailoring at its most wearable — a clean-cut sleeveless shift top paired with a structured mini skirt, both fully lined and designed to sit neatly on the body without stretch. The silhouette is simple and deliberate, with the top falling in a slightly boxy shape and the skirt cut to a flattering mini length, creating that iconic 60s proportion that feels effortlessly modern even now. The fabric has a gentle weight and a softly brushed feel, adding warmth and quality without bulk, while the understated pattern keeps the look polished and versatile. Though unlabelled, the construction, fabric, and design details are all strongly indicative of a well-made 1960s piece, offering timeless style with a distinctly vintage edge. Best suited to a modern UK size 8, based on the measurements provided, with a neat fit through the bust and waist and a structured, non-stretch finish. Style together for a true mod-inspired look, or wear separately — the top works beautifully over tailored trousers, while the skirt pairs effortlessly with knits or crisp shirts for a more contemporary feel. In very good condition for its age, with minimal signs of wear.

MEASURED & READY TO WEAR
Carefully measured, described and prepared — no surprises.
At My Vintage, we take time to carefully measure each item of vintage clothing so that you have the best chance of ensuring a good fit whenever you buy from us. We measure the clothing laid flat as the diagrams show below and for bust, chest, waist and hips we double the measurement. For example, if the waist measures 17" across when laid flat then this would equate to a 34" waist (17 x 2 = 34)
We use the measurements we collate to assign each item of vintage clothing with an approximate modern-day size. For example, a dress with a 34" bust, 28" waist and 34" hips would normally equate to a current UK size 10. The labels on vintage clothing can vary massively depending on country of origin and date of manufacture. Clothing sizes have changed over the years and from decade to decade we see alternative types of sizing as well as variations on the way measurements equate to dress sizes.
We always recommend that you double-check the measurements of the vintage clothing item you are interested in, ideally by measuring an item of clothing you already own and that fits well, and comparing these measurements. There can be variations due to the desired fit, shape and fabric of an item but our size guidelines are normally very accurate and take the stress out of buying vintage online.
