April Favourites

Another month has flown in, despite it being spent in lockdown it's gone really quickly for me! We have been really busy here at My Vintage HQ with online orders being sent out all over the world. The shop may be closed, but we are really lucky to have such supportive customers who are managing to get their vintage fix sent directly to their door.

As I do every month, I have rounded up some of my absolute favorite picks from the website for you in this blog post. I've chosen a variety of styles, sizes and prices over several categories so there is sure to be something for everyone. I have also tried to make this month's favourites a little more lockdown friendly. Although I'm very into getting dressed up in a killer dress with full hair and make up for a date with the sofa, it's a time for practicality. And just because we aren't going out for dinner and drinks doesn't mean we can't still treat ourselves to something new. My top picks this month offer a little vintage glam amidst the current chaos of life, something we all need a little of.

Don't forget that I also post daily outfits and other fun posts over on Instagram and Facebook so be sure to follow us there to get even more updates from the home of fashion's best kept secret - My Vintage.

So let's have a look at this month's best bits...

ACCESSORIES

I'm starting off with some absolutely amazing vintage accessories that have recently been added to the website. First up is this stunning vintage Burberry umbrella.

The weather might have been lovely for a few weeks now, but lets not forget that this is Britain! We know the rain is bound to be just around the corner no matter what the time of year. And what better way to accessorise your government mandated daily walk than with an original vintage Burberry umbrella?

For those sunnier days, we have a fantastic range of vintage sunglasses including some exclusive designer styles. I've chosen this gorgeous green oversized pair that come in at just £15 so are very budget friendly.

I've chosen these ones specifically because they are quite unusual and quirky but they also tie in with many different looks. You could wear these with a 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s or 90s outfit just as much as they would go with a more modern look. A great versatile find, and still with the original tags too!

Sticking with green, I also love this 1980s vintage stretch belt with feature buckle...

We added a great selection of original vintage belts to the website this month, in a variety of sizes, fabrics and beautiful colours. Take a peek at our Accessories section to see even more.

DRESSES

No monthly favourites blog would be complete without some beautiful vintage dresses! Pyjamas and loungewear might be the most worn items of the month but there is still room for a new dress in anyone's life. My first pick is this absolutely glorious blue midi dress that you may have seen recently on our Instagram.

I absolutely love the colour of this dress, and it's also such a flattering shape. It would also be quite handy for any mums who are breast-feeding with the crossover top. Ideal for the spring and summer months, it's a great find and one that I doubt will hang around for long.

Next up is this stunning bohemian vintage maxi dress with a folky feel.

This is absolutely gorgeous for pottering around the house or garden, giving you maximum comfort alongside super chic style. It would also be fabulous for holidays in the future too, a real gem from the 1970s.

HOMEWARE

As most of us have a lot more time at home just now, organisation and tidying has reached a whole new level. Those little painting and DIY jobs are finally being done and rooms are getting new layouts and re-styles for all directions. I've picked out this awesome mid century vintage magazine rack that would sit perfectly in a true retro or more modern sitting room and keep things nice and tidy...

It's such a cool and collectable piece, perfect in a lounge or bedroom. Another item that I think will be snapped up pretty soon. And remember, we delivery items all over the world from our Lancashire HQ.

Another increasingly popular activity during lockdown is baking. If you can get your hands on some flour, or like me you have been hoarding the stuff for years, then you will love this antique weighing scales...

These fantastic vintage scales have so much rustic charm and the cream colour will fit into almost any kitchen design. They come complete with a full range of weights and work like a dream. There's something very wholesome and satisfying about using some good old fashioned mechanical scales and you will never need to find batteries for them either!

I hope you love my lockdown friendly April vintage favourites as much as I do! And as always, if you need any help with sizing or have any questions whatsoever, then do not hesitate to get in touch via email or any of our social media profiles. I am always very happy to help you.

Until next time
